Biyombo, Motiejunas, Valanciunas

May 12, 2011 11:49 pm

Also Jan Vesely will not attend or invited to the NBA Draft Combine in Chicago. Which was reported yesterday at mlive.com by Chris Iott. This is simply a significant part of how a player really is. And these three international players namely Bismack Biyombo, Donatas Motiejunas, and Jonas Valanciunas , which has been attached to the Detroit Pistons as potential picks in a few mock drafts , will not be completely evaluated by all teams before the draft. With the stigma of drafting international player like Darko Milicic, hopefully the Pistons won't waste their first round pick, And fully evaluate every one of these draft prospects over and over again. Especially Bismack Biyombo who really came out from nowhere. Personally i really never heard of him ever before even in the international circuit. And only exploded in one game in Portland also there are a few discrepancy or rumors already about his age which should be cleared or tested by the NBA. In my opinion if they do not participate and work out in the combine. Teams should not be too high on them in the first place. And pick first top prospects from the collegiate ranks before them.

I am looking at the front line of the Detroit Pistons and never in my life have I seen such futility. Austin Daye let Marquis Daniels take a rebound from him and it looks like he has a hard time just running up and down the court. The way he moves the best thing for him to do is gain about 70lbs and play center and hope that he can keep his skills because he is too slow to be a SF and too light to be a PF. His whole off season regimen needs to change starting with strength and conditioning. Greg Monroe needs to stop being so friendly and prove that he belong in this league because that isn't what I saw a Georgetown last year. DeJuan Summers has all the skills to be a top NBA performer but he is not mentally there it seems like to me. I look at some of the match ups that he has been in and he is so quick to pass when he should be demanding the ball. Rodney Stuckey just needs to be put at SG and Joe Dumars needs to seriously look for a PG. Charlie Villanueva has been the only bright spot this season. We need to have more intensity on defense and not let players make game winning lay-ups that would have never happened in 2003-2004 and especially not from 1985-1991 come on Detroit!

Come On Joe

Joe Dumars I believe in second chances but man. Tracy McGrady out of all the free agents that were out there. Ben Gordon and Charlie Villanueva are not mid-level exception players. Kwame Brown should not even be wearing a Pistons jersey. Austin Daye can't fight his way out of a wet paper bag. Rodney Stuckey is the point and he is leading the team in shot attempts not good. Can Richard Hamilton and Tayshawn Prince stay healthy. Well I guess you can look at the upside we s=can beat the Cleveland Cavaliers now.

Current State of Affairs

March 14, 2010 12:06 pm

Re: my last post: No trades of significance happened, so they wallow in mediocrity for the rest of this season.

Wow, the Pistons are in dire shape these days.
  • The games lately have been almost like enduring torture to watch until the last buzzer.  Villanueva and Gordon aren't playing anywhere nnear the level they were expected to perform at.  Kuester hasn't impressed me much.  Stuckey is out indefinitely.  Big Ben is still out. Tayshaun & Rip are still the solid soldiers they always have been, but they can't carry the load every night.   It takes an entire Team!
  • Ownership wants to abandon the franchise now, meaning they could move elsewhere very easily, at any time.  The Pistons desperately need some gazillionaire to buy the Pistons, (I'd like to see them back in Detroit too) and the new ownership then needs to nurture and strengthen the franchise like Mr. D did for so many years.
On a more positive note - Will Bynum has sure been a bright shining star lately as well as Jonas Jerebko and Jason Maxiell !  Some things are still left to build on here, for sure.
